Male Genital Warts
For men who are sexually active, having male genital warts can change your whole life. It is mainly because men who once had genital warts can have it over and over again. It means that it may reappear throughout your life. Also, once you have this, your sexual life can be changed drastically since this kind of disease is highly contagious. The best thing about this is that there are still a lot of ways on you can deal and control them effectively.
Basically, genital warts are more common to women compared to men and they are more prone to STD. However, it does not mean that men are already safe from having genital warts. Males can also be infected by this disease. Also, the appearance of warts is different in males and females. Genital warts in men are often seen as pinkish or flesh colored lesion and bumps on the skin. They are a bit elevated and they can be both painful and itchy. Once these symptoms occur, these warts are already contagious.
In both male and female, warts can appear singly or they can also multiply in the different parts of the body. Usually, the warts in male are seen on the anus, scrotum, groin, thigh and even in the penis. Warts do not appear immediately once you are infected. It depends on the immunity of your body. Usually, warts will grow after a couple of weeks or months. If your body can fight the virus, warts will not grow on your skin. However, if you have low immunity it can grow for only a couple of days.
Warts diagnosis for men can be difficult since the HPV tests are not available for men. It means that the only for the warts to be diagnosed is through visual inspection. It means that diagnosis will not be possible if the warts are not yet visible.
